Both foundations recognise the importance to find answers and solutions for climate change by addressing global challenges related to energy transition, energy security, and energy and economic security policy. This will be carried out through dialogue, collaboration, and the engagement of key decision-makers from politics, business, academia, and civil society.

The ONS Foundation is a non-profit organisation facilitating discussions and collaboration on geopolitics, energy, technology and climate issues, notably through its biennial ONS global energy forum in Stavanger, Norway, as well as summits and roundtables worldwide, organised in cooperation with strategic partners and other entities, driving the future of energy.

As part of the agreement, BMW Foundation will take part at the ONS global energy forum in August 2026 Stavanger, Norway. ONS Foundation will also contribute to the programme at the Energy Security Hub in the BMW Foundation Pavilion at the Munich Security Conference in February 2026.
