This week, ONS is taking part at the historic conference, and is also partnering with MSC on a roundtable about energy security. The aim is to discuss and explore the geopolitical ripple effects of the transition away from fossil fuels.

“We are a proud partner of Munich Security Conference. Together we are raising the important questions concerning energy security and climate security with some of the most important decision makers worldwide. We believe in collaboration to secure energy supply and to reach net zero. Our strategic partnership with MSC is laying the foundation for that”, says Leif Johan Sevland, CEO and President of the ONS Foundation.

Energy is a global security concern and therefore the ONS Foundation sees great value in being part of the Munich Security Conference discussions. Geopolitical tensions and rising uncertainty challenge energy security and energy supply worldwide, putting strain and urgency on the energy transition. Geopolitical repositioning and new alliances and relationships are emerging, requires new approaches and strategies on energy security and supply.

Strategic partnerships

CEO and President of the ONS Foundation, Leif Johan Sevland, and Programme Director of ONS, Inger Lise Rettedal, will attend the MSC this week. MSC has over the years been a trusted partner for ONS in gathering high-level decision makers and energy industry.

“In addition to our biennial flagship conference and event in Stavanger, Norway, ONS holds events with our incredible network of energy experts around the world on energy security.”, says Programme Director, Inger Lise Rettedal.

Governmental representatives, politicians, global thinkers, and industry leaders join the ONS events, often organized in cooperation with strategic partners, such as Munich Security Conference and Center on Global Energy Policy at Columbia University.

She adds:

“It is a great acknowledgement for us to take part at the roundtable in Munich in connection with the conference. MSC is an unparalleled platform for high-level debates and roundtables on the geopolitical and security policy challenges of our time.”
